Lampp reveals that Ziyek is not ready for a comeback with a gun
Frank Lampard insists Hakim Ziyek will not be able to help Chelsea in this weekend's Boxing Day game against Arsenal.
Ziyek has been in impressive form since moving from Ajax but has missed out on the last four games in all competitions due to a hamstring injury in a win over Leeds United earlier this month.
He had returned to training before the 3-0 win against West Ham United, but the England boss said he would not risk the 27-year-old winger on the pitch without his muscle soreness.
"No, he's not fit to meet Arsenal, it's a sore muscle so we have to wait for it to heal," Lampard said.
"It's not a long-term pain, and we hope he'll be back in about a week."
“Football is like this when players have to go on the pitch every few days.”
In addition to that, Ben Chilwell and Reece James still have to wait to see if they will recover in time against Arsenal or not.
James suffered a sore knee that missed out on the win against West Ham, while Chilwell was replaced because of an ankle injury.
